The Community Climate Coaches would like to invite people and representatives of local organisations to a series of free sessions being held across County Tipperary in April and May.

As the climate changes, how can we engage people and our communities in restoring biodiversity and addressing ecological challenges together?

  • Hear the stories of community-led actions and local initiatives already making a positive impact on our environment, economy, and health.
  • Take part in facilitated conversations that enhance understanding of the challenges and opportunities for our communities.
  • Create a Community Wellbeing and Climate Resilience Map for County Tipperary.

These events will creatively explore how we can strengthen the well-being and climate resilience of our local places through the power of community-led action and local development.

The Community Climate Coaches

The Community Climate Coaches are volunteer community advocates, who have participated in a year long programme of learning, active across County Tipperary.

Introducing the Community Climate Coaches programme:

Picture it …

Resilient, regenerative local communities in County Tipperary inspiring change, embodying innovation, and solid in tackling the climate, biodiversity, and energy storm head-on.

What’s not to love, but how do we get there?

Who are we?

The Community Climate Coaches project is led by Cultivate the Sustainable Ireland Cooperative in partnership with Tipperary PPN and the two Tipperary Local Development Companies, South Tipperary Development Company and North Tipperary Development Company. The pilot is funded by the Government of Ireland’s Community Climate Action Programme: Climate Education, Capacity Building and Learning by Doing

Our objective is to enhance the capacity to catalyse, scale and accelerate biodiversity, climate action and a just transition through sustainable community-led initiatives, strengthening the resilience and wellbeing of our local places.

Activities of the project are maintaining a Community of Practice of Community Activists, hosting Community Climate Action Workshops and co-designing a Community Climate Coach Toolbox & Training.

Read in detail here.

Interested to get involved?

There’s a national symposium in Spring 2024 promoting the outcomes to stakeholders from PPN’s, local authorities, and other climate action and social inclusion initiatives. Send us a mail on coaches(at)sustainable.ie.
