Facilitating Community Wellbeing and Climate Resilience – Training Course
Are you a Local Development Company, PPN, Local Authority, or community network with a need to help communities understand and respond to the climate and ecological crises in a more systematic way?
Cultivate’s “Facilitating Community Wellbeing and Climate Resilience” training is like a continued professional development course. It is designed to build the capacity of local leaders to drive positive change in areas such as climate, biodiversity, the circular economy, social inclusion, community development, and smart village initiatives.
What We Offer:
- Community of Practice: We focus on developing a learning and peer-support network of local climate coaches who will engage communities, facilitating discussions and supporting initiatives that enhance both climate resilience and wellbeing.
- Capacity Building: Through a blend of online and in-person modules, participants will gain deep insights into systems thinking, community engagement, and facilitation techniques. This ensures they are well-equipped to lead sustainable, community-driven initiatives, and to reach seldom heard communities.
- Local Climate/Bioregional Hubs: Development of local hubs that serve as centres for climate action and resilience, allowing communities to collaborate and strengthen their efforts. Support in the delivery of a community engagement campaign in each hub.
- Toolbox of Resources: Access a comprehensive suite of tools and resources to support your community engagement campaign.
Key Outcomes:
- Skilled Facilitators: Participants will gain capacity and expertise needed to lead community engagement workshops aimed at enhancing local wellbeing and climate resilience.
- Informed Community Leaders: Participants will emerge as more informed and capable leaders, equipped with the skills to effectively engage their communities in meaningful climate and sustainability initiatives.
- Community Strengths Mapping: Creation of a dynamic, interactive map that highlights and makes visible the community-led climate and sustainability actions within the region.
