Toolbox
The Community Climate Coach Toolbox includes a number of resources to support the delivery a community engagement campaign. Outputs from the CCAP Community Climate Coaches project include the interactive map, the training course (offered through Cultivate).
The toolbox includes:
- Community Engagement & Facilitation Training Handbook
This handbook accompanies the training for Community Climate Coaches to engage communities and facilitate sessions that help address ecological and climate challenges in local places. - Template slides – for Community Engagement Sessions
Adaptable slides for presenting and holding the workshops within communities, including climate context slides for outlining the urgency of the context and relevance of our particular approach. - Conversation Starter Cards – based on Joanna Macy & Chris Johnstone’s Active Hope/ The Work That Reconnects
Following the powerful stages outlined in this renowned body of work, we ignite conversations that connect and progress us to where we need to go – supporting The Great Turning as it’s called in their work. - Mapping Cards – physical prints & digital files
Each of the 6 mapping areas have their own colour coded card, with spaces for information to be written out physically before being transferred digitally to the map. - Platform for Community Wellbeing and Climate Resilience Map
- Artwork for large mapping boards/ context boards, or other print/ social media/ digital uses
Icon Cards for mapping community strengths. - Tutorial – on the Mapping System for Community Resilience
This video guides each of the steps involved in uploading, managing, and making the map submissions most useful for the public, as well as showing how to navigate the backend of Open Green Map. - Table Canvases – for hosting community conversations
Useful both as a framework for hosting conversations that matter and harvesting them. We draw down the richness of discussions to transcribe the discussion and support clear next steps all while the conversation is in flow. By the end of it we have a resource too reflecting the wisdom of the group, and diversity in the room. - Appreciation & Reflection Cards – for engaging participants & harvesting insights
These colourful cards help capture insights and poignant pieces from events and can be used in various ways to shape conversations and make for themed harvests. Like the mapping cards the digital files are available in the Toolbox and are easily adapted. - Ecological Handprint Framework
This Ecological Handprint framework and process is designed to help consolidate the reflections, insights, and information gathered from the three community engagement sessions and mapping process, aiming to develop a simple Community Wellbeing and Climate Resilience Pathway for the region. - Feedback sheets for the workshops
Developed for the CCAP project, very useful for identifying the relevance, and most appropriate sessions for your particular community. The templates also exist as Google Forms. - CCC Toolkit from the European project
The CCAP project developed out of an EU project with partners from across Europe. The toolkit from that project is an 80-page directory of tools, exercises, and bodies of work that influenced the European CoP. They were tested by the partner organisations and written up complete with links, diagrams and step-by-step methods of engagement
These resources are made available upon participation and completion of the Facilitating Community Wellbeing and Climate Resilience training course.
