Mapping Community Resilience
Climate resilience refers to our capacity to anticipate, address, and adapt to challenges and disruptions caused by a changing climate.
One outcome from the CCAP Community Climate Coaches project was mapping local strengths and resources that enhance resilience and contribute to the wellbeing in County Tipperary under six areas. These six areas are distinct from one another yet initiatives on the map can represent several areas. The Open Green Map below may take a few moments to fully load, and then can be interacted with via zooming into or further out from a region, and icons can be clicked/tapped to display more information, photos and contact details of initiative.
Anyone can contribute to Tipperary’s Community Wellbeing and Climate Resilience Map. You as an individual, or your organisation or community are welcome to help populate this map. Please submit your community-led, community-benefiting or community-owned initiatives to map local strengths and resources that enhance climate resilience.
See the overview of the six areas and the icons used to map the different initiatives on the slides below. More detail and training in managing, developing and utilising this resource is a part of the training offered by Cultivate. An in-depth tutorial on adding and managing the backend of the platform is included in the project Toolbox.
