Working Groups

The Feeding Ourselves Community of Practice (CoP) brings together diverse stakeholders to advance policy, training, and advocacy development for resilient local food systems. A number of key initiatives are driven through working groups and living labs, each focusing on critical aspects of food sovereignty, land use, and local economies.

  • Short Food Supply Chains – Supporting the development of food hubs, advisory services, and training for local food facilitators through partnerships with Cultivate, EU4Advice, CODECS, OFN, Talamh Beo, and NOTS
  • Land Observatory – Advancing the development of an Irish Land Observatory to improve land access, governance, and policy transparency.
  • Local Food Economy – Exploring strategies for strengthening local food policy to support local food producers in collaboration with Talamh Beo, Feasta, Cultivate. This work will feed into the next iteration of Talamh Beo’s Local Food Policy Framework
  • Environment & Land Policy – Engaging with policy frameworks and advocacy networks, including the Environmental Pillar, to support regenerative land management and climate-aligned food policies.
  • Palestine solidarity – Connecting with the Union of Agriculture Work Committees (UAWC) for solidarity connections, including its Stop Gaza Starvation Campaign, for farm twinings and for solidarity harvests/shieldings – with Cultivate and Talamh Beo.
