Supports & Training for Short Food Supply Chain Advisors

Following the rich conversations at the Feeding Ourselves gathering on the emerging roles of Local Food Facilitators and Short Food Supply Chain (SFSC) Advisors, this EU4Advice Irish Living Lab webinar aimed to deepen our understanding of the roles of local food facilitators and SFSC advisors, and start shaping a training programme tailored to the Irish context.

We asked “What kinds of support and training do Local Food Facilitators need to strengthen local food economies, build climate resilience and reduce dependence on long, vulnerable supply chains?”

Objectives of the session was to….

  • Share insights from EU4Advice, COREnet and the Talamh Beo’ Local Food Policy Framework
  • Understand and articulate the value of Local Food Facilitators in the Irish food system
  • Gather input on content, delivery methods, and support structures for a pilot training course for Local Food Facilitators/ non-formal SCSC Advisors.
  • Activate the network of stakeholders to participate in piloting and co-design

If you’re interested in helping shape the pilot training for Local Food Facilitators—or would like to take part in the training—please get in touch with the Living Lab Coordinator, Davie Philip
